ColourTrainer

Privacy Policy

ColourTrainer has no account, advertising, analytics, tracking, or developer-operated server. Training data and settings stay on your device unless you deliberately share something or contact support.

Effective date: August 5, 2026.

At a glance

  • Duck Code does not collect your exercise answers, scores, settings, colour choices, device information, or identifiers.
  • The app contains no third-party advertising or analytics SDKs and does not track you across apps or websites.
  • There is no ColourTrainer account or cloud synchronisation service.
  • Apple processes optional purchases, notification permission, and Photos permission through system services.

Information stored on your device

ColourTrainer stores the information needed to provide its features locally. This can include your selected language, onboarding choices, display-context preferences, reminder settings, enabled exercise families, deterministic challenge plans and seeds, answers, progress, scores, exposure-balancing statistics, recent run history, and supporter-prompt dates.

The app shares only the minimum local information needed by its Colour-of-the-Day widget—such as the selected app language and offline colour entry—through Apple’s App Group storage on the same device. The widget and app use a bundled offline colour catalogue and do not fetch colour data from the internet.

Daily reminders and notifications

If you enable Daily Challenge reminders, ColourTrainer asks iOS for notification permission and schedules notifications locally on the device. It does not register for remote push notifications and does not send reminder information to Duck Code. You can disable reminders in ColourTrainer Settings or change notification permission in iOS Settings.

Optional supporter purchases

Optional supporter purchases and repeat tips are processed by Apple using StoreKit. ColourTrainer requests product information, localized prices, and verified entitlement status from Apple so it can show purchase options, restore eligible purchases, respond to refunds or revocations, and unlock the bundled supporter wallpapers.

Duck Code does not receive your payment-card details through the app and does not operate a purchase server. Apple may process purchase and account information under Apple’s Privacy Policy and App Store terms.

Wallpapers, Photos, and sharing

Supporter wallpapers are bundled inside ColourTrainer. The app requests add-only Photos permission only when you choose to save a wallpaper. It does not request permission to browse or read your photo library. A saved wallpaper remains in Photos until you delete it there.

If you choose Share, Apple’s share sheet sends the selected wallpaper only to the person, app, or service you select. That destination’s privacy practices apply after you share it.

External links and support email

Research, licence, privacy, and support links open outside ColourTrainer. The destination website or browser may process information under its own privacy policy. Merely using ColourTrainer does not send Duck Code your browsing activity.

If you email duck_code_contact@proton.me, Duck Code receives the email address, message, and attachments you choose to send. Support correspondence is used only to respond, investigate the issue you describe, and maintain reasonable support records. Please do not include sensitive information. You may request deletion of your support correspondence at the same address.

Website hosting

This policy and the Duck Code website are hosted using GitHub Pages. Visiting these web pages may cause GitHub to process standard request information, such as an IP address and browser details, under the GitHub Privacy Statement. This website uses no Duck Code analytics or advertising.

Retention and deletion

Local app information remains on the device until it is replaced, reset by an available app control, automatically expires, or the app is deleted. The recent run-history feature automatically removes entries older than seven days; longer-lived progress and exposure statistics remain local so training can stay balanced.

Deleting ColourTrainer normally removes its local app and widget-container data. It does not delete wallpapers already saved to Photos, information you shared elsewhere, support email, or purchase records managed by Apple. Those items must be deleted through Photos, the chosen destination, Duck Code support, or Apple as applicable.

Your choices

  • Notifications can be declined or disabled without losing access to training.
  • Photos access is optional; wallpapers can still be shared without it.
  • Support purchases and tips are optional; every training and learning feature remains free.
  • Display-change notices and reminder preferences can be changed in ColourTrainer Settings.
  • You can stop local processing by deleting the app, subject to the exceptions described above.

Data sharing and security

ColourTrainer does not sell personal information and does not share app data with advertisers, analytics providers, data brokers, or other Duck Code services. Apple system services and destinations you deliberately choose receive only the information needed for the action you requested and operate under their own terms and privacy protections.

Local information benefits from the security protections provided by iOS and your device. No storage method can be guaranteed completely secure, so keep your device and operating system protected and up to date.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated if ColourTrainer’s features or legal obligations change. The effective date above will change when the policy is materially revised. App Store privacy disclosures will also be kept consistent with the app’s current behaviour.
